Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information HomeEase collects, why it is collected, how it is handled, and what rights you have.

Plain-language note: We keep data handling minimal. We only collect what we need to respond and deliver.

Last updated: 2026-01-30

1) Who is responsible for your data

HomeEase is operated as a small independent business by Sam Fowler (Sweden). This means HomeEase is the data controller for the information you submit through the website or via email.

2) What data we collect

When you contact HomeEase through the website or by email, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Optional information you provide (for example phone number, company details)
  • Information you include in your message (for example goals, systems, devices)

We do not request personal identity numbers or sensitive personal data through the contact forms.

For security, we also log limited technical data (e.g., IP address and timestamp) on login attempts and attachment downloads. These logs are trimmed regularly (see retention).

2b) Enterprise portal (tickets)

If you use the HomeEase Enterprise portal, we process information needed to provide support and manage delivery. This typically includes:

  • Account details (email, name)
  • Ticket details (title, description, status/priority, timestamps)
  • Messages/comments you send in tickets
  • Attachments you upload (for example screenshots or PDFs)
  • Security/audit logs (for example login and admin actions)

Please avoid uploading sensitive personal data unless it is strictly necessary for support.

3) Why we collect data

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Provide a quote and clarify scope
  • Deliver the agreed services
  • Follow up on your request and service delivery

4) Legal basis

We process data based on one or more of the following:

  • Legitimate interest - to respond to enquiries and run the business responsibly
  • Contract - when processing is necessary to deliver agreed services
  • Consent - where applicable (for example if you explicitly request ongoing follow-up)

5) Data sharing and third parties

HomeEase does not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties unless it is necessary to deliver services (for example, if you ask us to coordinate with a specific supplier or installer).

Some work may involve third-party platforms (for example Apple, Google, or device vendor services). In those cases, your use of those platforms is governed by their own policies and terms.

6) Retention (how long we keep data)

We follow a defined retention schedule and remove data when it expires:

  • Contact/enquiry details: removed when the conversation ends and no later than 12 months after last contact (unless a project starts).
  • Enterprise portal tickets, comments, and attachments: deleted 12 months after a ticket is resolved/closed; active tickets are reviewed yearly.
  • Audit/security logs: trimmed after 180 days.
  • Password reset tokens: expire automatically after 30 minutes.

If an invoice is issued, limited billing records may be retained longer where law requires.

7) Security

We use practical measures to protect information, including minimizing access and storing only what is required. Where credentials or system access are needed for delivery, we aim to use least-privilege access and avoid retaining access longer than necessary.

  • Login attempts are rate-limited to reduce brute‑force risk.
  • Portal pages send nonce-based Content-Security-Policy; global CSP headers are scoped to avoid conflicts.
  • Session cookies are HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and Secure when using HTTPS.
  • Attachment downloads and admin redactions are logged for security/audit purposes.

8) Your rights

You can request:

  • Access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of your data (where applicable)
  • Restriction or objection to processing (where applicable)

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

9) Website analytics and cookies

We use a privacy-focused analytics tool called Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the website. This helps us improve usability, performance, and content.

Clarity may collect information such as pages visited, clicks, scrolling behavior, device type, and general location (country level). This data is used only to improve the website experience.

Clarity uses cookies to function. These cookies are not strictly necessary and are only used for analytics purposes.

Data collected through Microsoft Clarity is processed by Microsoft in accordance with their privacy policy:
